About The CIF

The Co-Operative Investment Fund (CIF) was established by a group of co-operative organizations in Barbados. Registered on August 31, 2018 No: 201 under the Co-operative Societies cap 378A under the Laws of Barbados, its primary goal is to tap into the financial resources of Barbadians from diverse backgrounds, with the specific aim of revitalizing the Barbadian economy and significantly enhancing economic activity on the island.

In a nation where 90% of the financial services sector is owned by foreign entities, and previously locally owned companies have been acquired by external interests, critical decisions are now being made abroad.

The CIF aims to introduce a fresh perspective on investing by offering all Barbadians the chance to participate in investment initiatives on the island. This initiative comes at a time when the investment environment is focused on promoting 'sell' Barbados at any cost.

As an independent nation, we must pursue alternatives. The Co-operative Investment Fund offers a viable solution.

The CIF was set up by the following members:

Corporations

  • Barbados Co-operative Business Association Ltd

  • Prudential Co-operative Credit Union Ltd

  • St. Stephen's Co-operative Credit Union Ltd

Individuals

  • Carson Moore

  • Jacqueline Hope

  • Charmaine Ward

  • Mia C. Doyle

  • Leonard Seale
